Ø We commit to stewarding God’s mission, entrusted to us, as we bring His vision into reality–which means we:
· Acknowledge God as the ultimate owner of our congregation and respond to His call to join his mission as stewards.
· Align our decision-making processes, at all levels of activity, to better reflect our role as stewards of God’s household.
· Trust and honor others in the congregation with behavior that reflects our Christian values because we know that God first calls his disciples and then supplies whatever gifts are necessary.
· Enact the revised infrastructure (constitution, bylaws, elder/deacon model) to help reduce KOG’s emphasis on “church membership” and increases its emphasis on “church discipleship.”
· Recommit to the congregation’s ministry by effecting an annual covenantal relationship.
· Invest, individually, a greater commitment of time, talent and wealth within KOG’s ministry to better steward God’s mission.
Ø We commit to developing and conveying a “front porch” attitude that welcomes and equips individuals to become fully-devoted disciples of Christ – which means we:
· Attract, welcome and then equip others so they better can discern God’s call to become fellow stewards of His mission.
· Increase the number of small group opportunities within the congregation and support their vitality.
· Reach out to those in the community by hosting a variety of ways to teach the stewarding model of ministry.
· Accentuate the importance of worship.
· Attend and/or provide ministry workshops, seminars, and leadership opportunities to help deepen our understanding of God’s mission.
· Recognize KOG’s Preschool as a blessing and opportunity to grow and equip more disciples by integrating the school more intentionally into the congregation.
Ø We commit to becoming the “church without walls” by implementing the Great Commandment and the Great Commission and embrace the five purposes of the church – which means we:
· Honor God by allowing his love to flow through us, “being” the church 24/7, wherever we are and in whatever we are doing.
· Conduct local mission projects (rehab, repair, clean-up, etc.).
· Support those who are unemployed.
· Make available personal/family financial planning and budgeting education.
· Deliver and support study groups and worship opportunities, off-site.
· Promote parenting classes.
